Applications have been invited from differently-abled sportspersons in the district to participate in the Bhinnasheshi Sargotsavam, a carnival for the differently-abled, to be held in Thiruvananthapuram from January 19 to 21.

Eligible candidates include those who have secured first, second or third place in district-level differently-abled sports competitions organized by the state government during the past 15 years, as well as those who have participated in state, national or international-level competitions. Participants in the athletics category are permitted to compete in a maximum of two events.

For candidates with intellectual disabilities, participation is limited to the 400-metre run, long jump and shot put events. Those in the dwarf category are eligible to participate only in the shot put event.

Applications have been invited for fish farming in tarpaulin ponds under the ‘Muttathoru Meenthottam’ project in Malappuram district. Applicants who own or lease a pond of at least half a cent are eligible to apply.

As part of the fourth edition of the Kerala Legislature International Book Festival, KSRTC is arranging free City Ride services for students to travel around the capital. The services will operate from 9 am to 2 pm.

The City Ride will start from in front of the Legislative Assembly building and proceed via Mascot Hotel, LMS, Museum, Kanakakunnu, Vellayambalam, Gurudeva Park, Corporation Office and Fine Arts College, before returning to the starting point.

Under the auspices of the Information and Public Relations Department, Kerala’s renowned instrumental band Arakavyuuham will present a rhythm-based instrumental fusion ensemble at Tagore Theatre on January 11 at 6.30 pm.

Arakavyuuham is known for its innovative musical creations, blending sixteen different instruments into a unique performance style. The programme at Tagore Theatre is open to the public, and entry will be free.
